 # What causes OBD error P0301 "Cylinder 1 Misfire \*I'll be as informative as I can I have a 2002 Ford Taurus V6 3.0L 108,987 miles In the 3 years I've had it I've done regular oil changes, kept fluids full, replaced the starter, and just yesterday replaced the serpentine belt/tension pulley/idle pulley (I replaced those because it was making a squealing sound but was running perfectly fine otherwise) After I replaced the serpentine belt and pulleys, it was running very unusual with dashboard indicators going off/on and trouble accelerating. With the OBD reader I got error code P0301 for cylinder 1 misfire. A friend told me to double check the cylinder coil for loose connection or if the epoxy cracked making it short out. I did that and one of the connections were kinda loose (by a hair) but couldn't see any sparks. I drove it and it was much better, no longer had trouble accelerating but you could feel that the cylinder was still misfiring (a very slight engine shake, no noises or noticeable grinding through the gas pedal). I disconnected the battery and am letting the computer reset to see if that works but if not I'm not very sure what to check next or how (I'm a YouTube mechanic, not very good). From google I've found that I should check the fuel injectors (never done this before) followed by the spark plugs (not even sure where those are, I'm assuming behind the engine). Someone on a blog mentioned something about the ECM (no idea what that is or how to troubleshoot it) I don't need a play-by-play but if you could steer me in the right direction of what to check and any tricks you have for doing so would be awesome. I'm back to youtube. # Related Answers Section Create your account and connect with a world of communities. Anyone can view, post, and comment to this community ## Top Posts
