He said the 36k miles spark plug replacement was a must. Kinda like the brake fluid flush at 36k; you could skip it, but an every 36k replacement interval decreases your chance of failure greatly. And none of us buys a fun little turbo to blow it. Everything looks as simple as it should be. I used to have to remove so much stuff just to get to the rear 3 spark plugs on my old car. Meanwhile, I knocked out a spark plug change on my wife's car (8th gen Civic) in under 15 mins in front of her brother's house. I'm sure you can stretch them out much longer but conventional wisdom says to check them at least every 30k or so. Whether or not they need to be replaced is a different story. Chances are, unless you're leaking oil or something they'll be fine until the next check. At Honda, we typically recommend replacing spark plugs during major service which is at 90k since we pull the plugs and perform a compression test. If they opt out of replacing the plugs at that time we recommend it at 100k. They just save the cost of labor during major service since we have them out already. I was Like what Sneaky Little Bitches - Playing Us - just to Jack Prices Up . . I'll try to make sense of this but some of it is little Crazy . . OK Here Goes : **First Up the Marketing A Holes - : Try to Confuse everyone - that's First Thing , unless You call Manufactures site & Ask ?'s** Example : **Plugs are Listed as all having Tampered Seats & No Crush Washer . .** **( YET If you go back & Look at few of First Photo I Posted of Honda Accords Plugs - Clearly see those are Flat Seated with Crush Washers ? )** Also I was Trying to get Up Dates on Ruthenium Plugs seeing those are listed as Longer Lasting Materials & Advanced Spark Development Like as in Faster .. ( Ruthenium Plugs are considered to be Racing Plugs in many Circles ) Those have 2 Different Part Number if Not 3 . . and Cost ranges from $52 set all way $200 . . again Marketing A Holes ! Liars . . what every U Wish to Call them .. certainly Confusing . . to say Least . . At same Time was doing some Research on Heat Ranges : DILKAR8P8SY BEING STOCK , DILAR8P9SY 1 STEP COOLER . . Denso makes Plug " They say is Great " for 1.5T & 2.0T Motors - it comes Part Number **IXEH01-31 STOCK** with **IXEH01-34** 1 STEP COOLER . . I will say that Denso Designs Their Plugs to Run Slightly Cooler then NGK's ( STOCK vs STOCK ) ./. Other's Noting NGK's BS Spark Plug Numbering : YET DENSO is also doing that when it Comes to OEM suppliers . . **It could also be Cross Reference Chart Providers have gotten Sick of this Game ! Looking at Plugs that Run Cooler ( That Truly Means Pull Heat from Explosive Camber Faster ) so Under Big Boost & Very Fast Heat Spikes - Coolant system is Tasks More then HEAD . . Your also able to By Indexing Washers for most Motors & Plugs from a number of suppliers . . Oh what Ya Know - **Honda also like Indexing as Plugs are FLAT SEATED - Period . .** this said All Denso Plug Images I Found were Tapered . . Seat .. which is ( ODD ) as Many Suppliers **Recommend Denso's Plugs ~ as ~ They Function Better Over Wider Heat Range = Cooler . .** **Please check as it's most Likely Images were Off . but I always ask or Call ( AS U Can't Use Tapered Plugs ) in Honda's I Know of . .** [EngTech1](/members/engtech1.934/) Discussion starter 1,383 posts · Joined 2018 * [Add to quote](/threads/spark-plug-removal-and-installing-couldnt-be-easyier.7491/reply?quote=49352 "Toggle multi-quote") [#21](#post-49352) · [(Edited)](#post-49352) FASTER FIRING PLUGS or Flame Kernel that Develops Faster Tuned Honda's should very least be Use Better Spark Plugs - but - Gaped Tighter . . this Design came out After Honda's New Turbo Motors Emerged . . **MOST ~ Ruthenium's** come gaped @ .0433 where older Stock Plug is .03149 or rounded to .0325 on Stock seeing Rutheniums Designed with ***Thinner Harder Wire - Juice Flows easier . .
