How to Replace the Battery for 2023 Honda Civic

in today's video we will replace the battery for 2023 Honda Civic pull the hood lever from the underneath of driver's height notice there is a lever in the middle of the hood that needs to be turned right and then we open the hood take the hood support bar then place it on the hole of the top left corner of the hood there's the cover for the positive terminal and we would have to lose the nut for that it is a 10 mm nut so I'll be using a gun with a socket of 10 mm to lose this nut the nut actually came out completely but you're not supposed to take out this nut completely just to the point where the terminal is loose enough for you to take out because I'm using a gun so the complete nut came out but make sure in your case you do not take it out completely I'm just putting it back to a point where it's still loose enough for me to take out the terminal and with a little wiggle notice the terminal came out with that the positive terminal is out now we will take out the negative terminal this time I'm only using a 10mm wrench just to loose the nut not to take it out completely once the nut is loose now we wiggle the terminal until it comes out both the terminals are taken out now we need to take out this plastic cover here I'm using a clip remover tool just to push this clip outwards all you have to do is just force the clip remover tool underneath the plastic cover for it to come out once the plastic cover is out now we also have to take out the nut for this this nut needs to be taken out completely while taking the nut out we also remove the complete frame because it's holding on to the battery itself and it needs to be removed completely there we got the framing removed I will show you later how to install it back now we try to see if the battery is still holding on to something and it seems like it's free and we can take it out because this battery does not have any handle so I will just remove the cover on the corners to make the process a little simple because I will be lifting it up and I need some space to take it out just remember for the cover the side where the arrow is it needs to go on the right side while you're installing it back now we will carefully lift up the battery to take it out there we got the battery taken out now I will be installing the same battery because my battery is good so the next steps would be just to install the new battery and you can use the exact same steps to install a new battery on your car notice this Frame piece it actually came off from this spot right there so it gets stuck either there or at the bottom depending on the size of your battery while you're installing it back make sure you're putting this either at the bottom or either at the top depending on the size of your battery and this framing will be installed once we got the battery in place there while installing just make sure you are setting aside these terminals so that it's easy for you to install the battery in its slot just remember the negative side goes towards the windshield do this process very carefully because the battery is heavy and sometimes it slips while you're putting it in its place place this seems good here I'm installing the frame back I'm actually putting it in the bottom hole because it suits the size of this battery there we have installed the frame halfway through now we take this hanger type screw and put this in the hole of the frame first once it's in you make sure there is no wire or harness underneath so you put this wire or harness aside while doing this process just make sure you don't drop this hanger type screw because if you do sometimes you may not end up finding it once you have enough space and the wiring is on top now you take this screw and place it right in the hole right there let me just show you one more time so what I did was just to place it right in that hole now we would have to put the nut on top of the screw once again just be careful while holding this and then you take this nut and install it on top of it keep holding on to that hanger screw while tightening the nut here I'm using the wrench to tighten this nut until the point where it's holding on to the battery firm and strong you see now it's holding on to the grip now I can just use the gun to tighten this further I'll just check to see if the battery is moving and it seems like it is so I will just tide this one more time be careful if you're doing it with the gun cuz sometimes the gun just pushes extra effort this much seems fine and the battery is also firm now we will install the terminals make sure the terminal is completely in before tightening the nut for it seems like it's completely in now I'm going to tighten the [Music] nut this much is fine and it seems like it's not coming out we'll do the same on the positive terminal just place the terminal completely in and then tighten the nut there the terminal is strong and firm and it's not coming out and we can just close it the final thing would be just to install this cover on top of it all you have to do is just place it and then push it downwards that much should be fine battery is moving a little bit but I think that's common in most cases you can do the adjustment by tightening the other side this much seems fine and there you notice the little movement is also gone the battery is firm and has been replaced completely we installed the battery properly but I forgot one thing and that is this cover I will be doing these steps back to put this cover back but make sure in your case you do not forget to install this cover so the battery is there but the cover is not all these steps are still fine you can still copy them only this cover is missing so once you install the new battery before putting any terminals or before putting any frame just make sure you install this cover first and then you install the frame and the terminals with that we are done with the replacement process of this battery
