as the brakes on your Corolla wear out they will need to be replaced fortunately this is easy to do yourself you will need jack stands a jack replacement pads replacement rotors a brake pad spreader a hammer and 14 and 17 millimeter sockets start by pulling the ebrake firmly loosen the lug nuts on the wheels before lifting it off the ground I'm only doing the front today so I'm only going to loose on the front wheels slide the jack under the car and lift it by the jack point slide the jack stand under the car and lower the car onto it [Music] repeat these steps for the opposite side of the car remove the lug nuts take the wheel off of the car and set it to the side using the 14 millimeter socket remove the two bolts holding the piston on make sure that you support the piston as you unbolt the second bolt because it is still attached to the brake line [Applause] set it on top of the dust shield to make sure it's out of the way next remove the brake pads now we're going to remove the rest of the brake caliper using the 17 millimeter socket remove the two bolts that are holding the bracket on I found these to be much more difficult than the other bolts so I had to get creative once the bolts are off then the bracket should slide right off next we're going to remove the disc brake use a hammer as necessary once the old rotor is removed place the new one on the axle use lug nuts on the studs to hold it in place now we're going to put the caliper bracket back on using the 17 millimeter socket once again tighten it as firmly as you can make it fit the new brake pads into the caliper bracket now we need to open the piston once again so it will fit over the new pads place the old pads on the piston and use them to push against when you open it up make sure that you open the piston all the way up so it will fit next make sure that the slide pins on the caliper bracket will move if they don't you can get creative place the piston over the pads again and bolt it back into place remove the lug nuts that are holding the disc brake on put the wheel back on the hub and hand tighten the lug nuts take the jack stand out from under the car and lower the car back onto the torque the lug nuts down the rest of the way repeat these steps for the opposite side and then you're done you
