all right we're going to replace the battery on this Honda Accord this is going to work for the years between 2018 and 2022. so the vehicle is not starting we're going to replace the battery so first thing you're going to need to do is obviously pop the hood this is your hood latch right down here Pop That all right we're underneath the hood this is your bad battery this is going to be the one that you're going to be taking out so what are you going to need you're going to need a 10 millimeter deep socket I have mine right here and I have mine attached to a drill you can have yours on a ratchet socket ratchet anything like that but you're going to need that 10 millimeter you're also obviously going to need a brand new battery you can get this at any local auto parts store just give them your vehicle's VIN number and they will get you the correct battery okay so we're going to be focused on four points right here here your negative terminal and your positive terminal so go ahead and grab your 10 millimeter and we're going to start by loosening this little black cover so loosen that and move that to the side and then we're going to loosen the two bolts so loosen this one first and then loosen the other one and then we're going to loosen the negative and the positive terminal Bolt so loosen that up and then loosen the one on your positive terminal and if you're noticing I'm not taking these bolts all the way off I'm just getting them loose if you take them all the way off it's going to make it a little more complicated so just loosen them don't take them all the way off so now we need to take this bracket off so I'm going to remove the bracket from the little holes that are down there you see just like that I'm going to do the same thing on this side not going to really be able to get the camera down there but just get that out of the hole and then the bracket's going to come right out just like that put your bracket to the side and now we're going to remove your negative terminal first so you want to take your negative terminal off first for safety reasons so just give it a wiggle just like I'm doing and it'll pop off just like that and now do the same thing with the Positive terminal wiggle it and pop it off put those to the side to where they're not going to be in your way and now we're ready to take this old battery out this battery has handles on it if yours doesn't it's going to be a little bit more of a pain but just lift it out get that out of there and it also has this little black cover right here just put that to the side because we're going to put it on the new battery all right speaking of the new battery go ahead and grab it all right and this is very important so notice where your positive terminal is and your negative terminal so the positive terminal is going to have the plus sign the negative terminal is going to have the minus sign I just took those little covers off right here the plus sign and your minus sign so obviously you're going to need to match it up okay so match that plus with the plus right here you want to match your positive terminal with the Positive bracket so I'm going to put the battery in right in the same spot and just kind of work with it until it's flush and in there like it's supposed to be all right double check that your positives where it needs to be and your negatives where it needs to be and then we're going to put the little black cover back on and this thing you're just gonna have to play with it wiggle it in there a lot of stuff gets in the way so just push it down until it's all the way down there just like it was when you took it out just got to work with it for a minute okay I got that on there good now we're going to put our positive terminal on first so it's very important to put the positive terminal on first we took the negative off first but we put the positive terminal back on first for safety reasons all right so get that on there and then you can put your negative terminal back on get that on there all the way down okay and now we can tighten up those bolts so tighten your positive terminal and then tighten your negative terminal and we don't want to over tighten these just hit them until they stop moving maybe a little tighter than that give it a wiggle make sure there's no play in it you don't want it to be loose you don't want there to be any play in it so if you're moving it and it's still jiggling around a lot then you need to tighten it more all right so now let's get that little bracket that we took off we're going to put it back in just like it came off just get those little posts down there on both sides and we need to get them back in those little holes that are down there so you're going to see those little holes get the bracket in those holes I'm gonna kind of have to work with this for a second here it's kind of hard to show with the camera but you'll see what I'm talking about there's those little holes down there so get both sides of the bracket in the little holes that are down there and once you have the posts in the holes then you're going to all right I finally got them in the holes you're going to lift up on the bracket so with your hand lift up as you tighten each side I'm gonna have to put the camera down and do that all right so I've got both sides tight you see there's no play in it you don't want that wiggling around either I'm going to put that black cover back on and your battery has been replaced you're all good to go so now let's get back in the car all right I'm going to try and start it up and the vehicle starts right up so obviously it was a success but you're going to notice that now all these lights are probably going to be on your dashboard besides the low tire pressure light all these other lights are going to be on your dashboard most likely um so don't freak out it's a easy fix also your radio may not be working or your screen may say uh uh something about the system being lost and it needs to be reset this one's fine but if it wasn't you would just click and hold the power button but obviously I do have these lights on so how are we going to fix that all we have to do is drive the car so I am going to take the car for a quick Spin and you're probably going to need to get up to about 20 miles per hour so I'm gonna drive the car and the lights should go off once you get to around 20 miles per hour sometimes a little earlier sometimes you might even have to hit 30. and there they go so lights went off like I said don't worry about that low tire pressure light that's that's a different issue but all the lights are off we've replaced the battery thank you guys for watching please subscribe
