Many people, preppers included, yours truly included, put off making simple but necessary, needed, do-it-yourself repairs when something breaks or something comes apart or quits working like it should. And we tell oursel, "I'll work on that tomorrow. I'll deal with that later. I'll fix it later." And the reason that most of us do that isn't because we don't know how to make the repair or we don't have time to make it. It's simply because we don't have the materials at hand to make the repairs when they're actually needed. And in the meantime, that small matter may become something very big. And if this happens during an emergency or disaster or an SHTF type of event, your family may suffer the consequences, large or small, simply because you didn't have the materials on hand to make the repair when it was needed. But we don't need to leave these repairs unressed, let them become major issues. We just need to have a simple repair kit on hand. Hello, my name is Les and in this video I want to show you how I easily and cheaply put together a repair kit. I put it together for $10 including the container that the kit is in. And I recommend that you put together this kit or one similar to it so that you have a way that your family doesn't have to suffer those consequences, especially an SHTF type of events simply because you didn't have an easy to put together and cheap $10 repair kit on hand. This kit is not meant for permanent long-lasting repairs. There's no 2x4s, welders, welding rods, and stuff like that in here, but it will be good for quick fixes when things break, especially in an emergency. And this kit will be a really good complement to the blackout kit that we put together about a month ago. This is a video in which I'm going to announce the winner of the All Powers R2500 power station that we arranged to give away with the All Powers folks when I did the review video on their R4000 power station. So, stick around to the end to see if you are the winner. Now, let's go look at the items that I put in that $10 repair kit. In no particular order, but first item is duct tape. You can fix nearly anything with duct tape, right? Of course, this is from the Dollar Tree, so it's not the highest quality duct tape available. And of course, you can always substitute something like this Gorilla tape if you want to upgrade the kit. However, you'll probably pay nearly $10 just for the Gorilla tape. The second item are zip ties. There must be at least 1,01 uses for zip ties, and I'm pretty certain that I've used them for over 900 of those uses already. Zip ties are one of the few things that rival duct tape in the you can fix anything with that category. Third item is paracord, and this one says its tensil strength is 550 lbs, like it should be. Now, I'm not sure I'd want to depend on the Dollar Tree paracord. If I had to use it for a purpose, that would actually require its full rated strength to be there. But for small temporary household repairs that require some kind of cordage, it should work just fine. The fourth item is electrical tape. This would be for repairing or connecting power cords of various types or covering the repairs of those cords in the event that one of them or some of them get broke or accidentally cut in two or something along those lines. Item number five, a multiack of small packages of superlue. This would be for repairing those things that you couldn't use the zip ties or the cordage to tie back together or the tape to tape together. You could use the superlue to glue it back together. Item number six is a plastic drop cloth. These have just a multitude of uses, including covering broken or cracked windows, holes in walls, or to seal an area off from the rest of the house should you have a need to do something like that. And the seventh item is a pair of scissors just in case you need to cut any of the other materials to size or you need to cut or trim some of the things that you're trying to repair. So there is the $10 household repair kit. With all of those materials stored away in that little container, you can make numerous repairs in times of emergencies, disasters, or even SHTF events and not let them go on and on until they become a major problem for you and your family. And now a question for you guys. What would you add to the kit to make it better? If you got any benefit from this video, I'd like to ask you to hit the like button, share it with your family and friends, share it on your social media accounts, and if you'd like to get more videos on family preparedness, consider subscribing to the channel.
