How to Perform an Oil Change on a 2020 Honda Civic (1.5L Turbo Engine)

Welcome to Cars You Can Fix. Today we're going to be doing an oil change on a 2020 Honda Civic with the 1.5 L turbo engine. Let's get to it. First thing you're going to need to do is remove the belly pan. This one, this car is missing it. You'll just have a few screws right here, right there. Take take those off and then take the pan out. Then we can get to the drain plug right here. This drain plug bolt is going to be a 17 mm. Don't forget your drain pan. And we're going to let it drain till it gets to a slow drip. While we're waiting for the oil to drain, we'll go ahead and replace the cr the crush washer and go ahead and put your new one on. Now that we're at a slow drip, we'll put the plug back in. Torque spec on the bolt is 30 foot-lbs. There it is. Now we're going to do the oil filter. Easiest way to get the oil filter off is using these oil filter pliers. Just go ahead and clamp it around there. Lefty loosey, righty tighty. And then get your drain drain pan under there. And if you can take a chance to please like the video and subscribe, it would really help the channel out. All right. Now we're going to go ahead and clean the surface. Just wipe it down. That's where the seal is going to sit for the oil filter. Before we install the filter, we're going to lube up this O-ring. So, just get a little bit of oil from there. Coat that up. And we'll clean this up too a little bit. Go ahead and turn it till the gasket just touches. And then about another half turn. That's good right there. Let's go to the [Music] top. This engine calls for 3.7 quarts of 0W20. I've already pre-measured that out in this here. So, let's just go ahead and fill it up. Go and put your cap back on. Now, let's go to the inside and reset the oil service indicator. To reset the oil, we're going to be using these buttons right here. So, go ahead and turn your car on to accessory mode. Okay. So, what we're going to do, we're going to push the going to push the info button. Okay. Push the info button. Get to this screen and go to the wrench. Hit enter. And the oil life. Okay. Now, at this point, you're going to push and hold enter. You got to hold it down for about 10 seconds for it to reset. Okay, now we get to this screen. Let's use the buttons here and scroll down. We're going to do all items. So, you hold down enter. Okay. Reset complete. And there we go. This is cars you can fix. Thanks for watching.
