How to Change Engine Oil and Filter on 2018 Toyota Corolla

well from welcome back to total maintenance YouTube channel I've recently filmed for you bunch of stuff on relatively very old Toyota's 86 truck 91 truck and today it will be the opposite 2018 corrala tota Corolla this one is really beautiful inside out and that's approximately 28,000 miles and meats and gene oil change to pop open the hood the lever is located right here this whole thing looks brand-new to me honestly it's incredible how still shiny everything yes the engine is to z RF e here you can see the cover of it and we will be doing engine oil so I will crack open this slightly and let it sit here like so and I will slightly pull that ng no lipstick so the oil can nicely drain out of engine oil pan Quora lies nicely safely up in the air I install the light for you so you can see so there will be transmission pan and here is an Jean oil pan drain plug and surprisingly the filter it's the steel spin-on type it's not a paper element you can see here my engine oil caching caddy so I will lift this a little bit closer to the drain plug and let's open it data the range blocks are 14 millimeter socket usually so let's see if it's the same here yep it was nicely I don't say that was accurate not over tight I love it somebody did a good job I'm very happy about it I'm bringing up this Society's cost previously and I will undo that block and hopefully you do not have any spill from that oil coming out fast yep nicely coming up I love it can you see it let's see if I can zoom on it for you yep you see that all right here coming out perfect I love it here you can see it from the different angle and I would like to point out something to you all of us watch further details so that is that crush washer the washer which is part of the drain plug and you can see it slightly blue when it was brand new it was blue that means its original Toyota and if you talk to the parts people at Toyota you will find out that if it's in the good shape that could be reused I normally change them but it could be use there's nothing wrong with that and this is very great design because the engine oil filter and the drain opening are so close to each other I can immediately continue this I'm doing opening that filter which is right here it's a spin on it's not a paper element I don't work on these very often because this is very new normally these cars goes to the dealer so if it's correctly installed it will be not over tight and I've they'll be able to undo it by their hand and again it seems to be somebody did a good job very happy to report to you that both were torn correctly and I am able already I'm just positioning the pitching on the floor but I am able to crack it open you can see how it's draining and we will have zero spills whatsoever this is perfect after a few minutes one that drips slows down I will just finish removing the engine oil filter I can see it's a mix of the last old change wasn't down at the dealer it was some aftermarket company perfect and now it can nicely finish dripping I'm sure you want to see the detail of that engine oil filter housing here you got it you can see it here approximately after 20 minutes and it's still dripping oil you can see so I will put a little bit of oil on the gasket of the new filter which is right here I will clean this wipe it off and I will screw on the new filter might be getting in your way sorry for that but I need some space to work so you can see how easy it tastes to deal with it since this the steel one and it's tight it will be tight all of us only by the hand you tied it nice and snug but you will not use any wrenches for that there will be a mistake because it will be over touch them now this is still dripping as I said five minutes later I gotta go so I'm putting the new drain plug and again I will have it nice and tight I don't use torque wrench after so many years of wrenching on this I believe I don't need it but if you want to have it perfect the torque for this is a forty Newton meters using that only small ratchet you don't want to over tied it and strip the thread in the pan and I guarantee you if you reuse if that washer from Toyota was good I guarantee you it will not leak it is really reusable and you saw how easy it is there are no covers to remove and then put them back and deal with these fasteners and so on total left nice opening here this is definitely easy and gene oil and filter change I love it we are back in the engine bay area so here are the wife of this what and clean this slightly perfect and I am ready to use my screw on funnel it will perfectly minimize and if of Sybil's pose I review this I highly recommend it to you I review it on this channel for this Corolla today I will use this mobile one it even says it's recommended for Toyota's 0w 20 and the owners manual times that we need when we are replacing filters that we need four point four quarts of 0w 20 this one I had it open already I was topping some other car with it there were only four quarts that's what I saw here on the back on the scale so let's pull for and see how high we go get on the dipstick lipstick we always take out clean it and we left to wait and let that oil go down meanwhile I can go ahead and top the windshield wiper reservoir for the owner if there was any mess I could vacuum it and so on it's always good time to do some visual inspection in the engine bay area see how that screw and filter nicely holds the jug so you can get all the oil out of it you don't create anyways I really recommend it it's awesome right and this is full the owner will be happy so let's go and see how high on the dipstick we will get when using only four quarts and it's perfectly touching the top you will be not able to see it because the brand new oil is so clear that it's just transparent but there are two marks this is the top one it's touching that tells me yes I still have to add that point four out of another Jack the covers when you start an engine the level will go slightly down I put finally all my oil so I can unscrew this just using a rag not to drip on the engine cover I'll nicely close this filler cap this is all the way in and I'm basically done leave the service but of course in my case I still have to put that reminder next oil change a reminder sticker on the windshield I need to reset the maintenance system in the vehicle which I will show you in different video and I need to go for the test drive but I hope you saw the Tata with this design did a great job to make it easy for everybody even if you get a front up you are able to get easily to that filter to the drain plug and if you observe the safety should be able to do it by yourself so that's one of my videos for you encouraging to do your own maintenance hope
