2018 Honda Civic Battery Replacement

2018 honda civic battery replacement uh pop your hood the batteries on the driver's side you're gonna need a deep 10 millimeter socket that's probably do the whole job adjust the socket go ahead and loosen this battery hold down um you don't got to take this nut all the way off just get it loose enough to where you could kind of unhook this post and pull it out now if you try to pull it out there's a post on the other side as well this is a lot shorter one and uh you can go ahead and get this plastic like fake nut off here like right that and then um it helps to loosen this one as well you don't have to get the knot all the way off you can if you like but um just loosen it and then you'll be able to remove this post and get this out of here sorry about the the birds in the background so we'll go ahead and remove this and take this and i just set him up here on the um cow now the um negative has to come off first negative always first that's what my dad always said not i'm just kidding i don't have a dad after you loosen that one nut you don't have to take it all the way off just loosen it and then you should be able to wiggle this clamp off it could be stubborn sometimes they're stubborn go ahead and get this off um if it doesn't come off for you just try to loosen it a little bit more and try to get it off and then we're going to get this positive side off that's a 10 millimeter uh you just get this plastic protector part up loosen the nut again you don't got to take the nut all the way off you could just wiggle it like that get it off um don't try not to let these clamps touch each other and then we'll just remove this battery it has this little battery sleeve on it i just remove everything and then i'll put the sleeve on the new battery so here's my battery and then here's my replacement my replacement is actually from toyota it says toyota on it but it really doesn't matter batteries a battery i'm going to move this sleeve over to it just make sure the um terminals are the same you know it's like positive on the right side and uh the dimensions are good now i'm gonna put my clamp back on and put this little small guy back in and there's a little hole that he hooks into i don't know if you could really see it but there's like a little hole right there you'll see when you're doing it it could be a little tedious to try to get it in there and then what i try to do is get the other post in as well just kind of get this in its hole and then when they're in the hole i'll just kind of go back and forth and tighten them down a little each at a time because if you try to just tighten one down like with especially with the impact drill the other side will just pop out and you have to do everything all over again all right so we'll get this tight and then after that we're gonna put our positive clamp back on so you wanna get this red cap off this is just a protector cap it doesn't really um it doesn't do anything except protect the terminal so you get that off and then we'll put this clamp back on try to push it down as far as you can and then tighten it don't like super tighten it because you could damage the terminal or the clamp just get it pretty snug and so it doesn't move we'll get this negative side on if you have an aftermarket alarm your alarm might go off uh just just be prepared with the key we'll go ahead and get this on there this negative one actually popped off when i tightened it down so i had to do it again i had to make sure to get it pushed down further down it kind of went it went crooked on me too so off camera i'm going to fix it i'm going to take it off and straighten it out like that all right that's good and that's it guys hope this video helped you out [Music] so you
